- Either find a convincing intellectual explanation for why part or all of it is false. (e.g. this post)
- Or find a system of ideas to replace it which explains the same domains of personality and relationships.

Nah, these aren't the only ways. Underneath one's interest in socionics and related theories is a need for order that can dissolve. If it dissolves (because the need is illusory—it doesn't actually do anything for you), then socionics does not need to be replaced by a competing theory in order to be forgotten.
In Gestalt Psychology this could be viewed as a movement from grounding oneself in ideas and stories to grounding oneself in direct experience. This is seen as one of the primary goals of therapy.
In the world of contemplative practices this would be a movement away from Mind towards Awakening to one's true nature.
In everyday language—"I just don't care about all those ideas anymore" along with a tangible growth in openness and curiosity about the world.
